- Knowing your credit score and what's on your credit report can help you determine what products to apply for. If you have fair credit, for example, you may not want to apply for a card that clearly states that only applicants with excellent credit will be approved.

Long time USAA member. Have held two of their cards for at least 20 years now. As my credit score has gone up over the years I have asked USAA several times to lower my interest and/or get me on one of their new card programs. They refuse to do either stating I must reapply and start fresh. Do you all know what happens to your credit score when you cancel a 20 year card and open a new one? It drops! I have other major cards with other banks and they have lowered my APR and/or transferred my account onto a better card they offered.... Not a very good way for USAA to treat a longtime loyal customer with 800 FICO. These cards just sit in my drawer now.
"Fantastic no fee card, I usually average $250 a year cash back.
"USAA changed out our Mastercard to a Visa. Our score is above 800. We got $300plus on $57,844.18 of purchases. What a rip off. Looking for a new provider.
"We've had USAA credit cards, insurance and banking for many years and are very happy with them. If you qualify for membership it would probably be a good idea to sign up.
